I want to quit drums after I see someone shred like you and many drummers. I go hide for awhile and come out of my shell once my confidence comes back after losing the memory of the drummer that killed me.
It's a natural cycle. I hope other drummers feel the same way.

Well Blake, in all honesty its guys like you who make me want to go back and practice more, as well I feel the same way you do when I see dude's shred hard. Its safe to say we all feel that way at some point or another!!! Happy playin!

Lol, yep, same with me. But it's also true that every drummer, every musician for that matter, goes through much the same anguish, whatever elite level they are. There's always someone with more chops or whatever. But we all have something to offer, and the main thing is, as long as we enjoy producing music through drums, that's the bottom line. Some drummers are made for chops, some are made for grooves, and some are made for somewhere in between, and some are made for both. That's what makes us individual. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Anyway, excellent playing Nevesis, you have amazing hands and startlingly quick feet!

I noticed you kept switching between matched and trad. Do you always do it or was it for the contest? Are you equally comfortable with both?

Hey Tombo, thanks for the positive comments man I appreciate them.

I switch between traditional grip and match grip basically because I get a different feel from each individual grip, and for certain things I just like using one or the other. Believe it or not, on that video I had only been using traditional for about 4-5 months. Before that I hardly ever used it, I was all about match grip. Virgil really kicked my ass into gear after seeing him in clinic during the summer last year to start practicing hard with traditional, and I havent stopped since! Happy playin!
